Bright Suns, Rachelle!
Welcome to the Disney Parks Moms Panel! Thanks for stopping by with your question!
Your trip to the Disneyland Resort is just days away! Are you ready to live your
Star Wars story?
Utilizing the
Rider Switch Service is one of my top tips! This service allows guests that don’t meet the boarding requirements or don’t wish to experience a particular attraction the ability to wait with a supervising guest (age 14 or older) while the rest of the party enjoys the attraction. Then, the roles are switched to allow the supervising guest to experience the attraction without waiting in the regular queue again. Rider Switch is available at
select attractions in Disneyland Park and Disney California Adventure Park.
You’re in luck! Rider Switch is available at both of the attractions at
Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge! The way you’ll use the service is essentially the same, the only difference being the queue for each ride.
Millennium Falcon: Smugglers Run has a traditional queue. One guest will wait in line while the supervising guest waits when the non-rider. Once the first rider exits the attraction, they’ll be able to switch roles.
Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance works a little differently because it utilizes a
virtual queue. First, all members of your party that wish to ride will need to join a boarding group and wait for the return window. Once your return time is called you may use Rider Switch as you normally would. Please feel free to reach out to Cast Members at each attraction for additional questions about Rider Switch.
I hope this helps you plan your visit to a Galaxy Far Far Away!
Til the Spire!
