My husband and I are going to be in Disneyland in August and we are both doing Weight Watchers. What are the best restaurants to help us keep our diet on track? Fruits and veggies are great and turkey or chicken are awesome. Any suggestions?

    Hi, Jenny!

I’m so glad you stopped by with this question. While the Disneyland Resort may be known for its decadent treats, there are also many ways to stick to a diet plan while you visit! In addition to the fresh fruit and veggies offered at snack carts throughout both theme parks, there are healthy options at many quick-service and table-service dining locations.

A great choice in Disneyland Park is Plaza Inn, where you can ask for baked chicken without breading instead of fried chicken and request all green beans instead of mashed potatoes to complete your meal. Also on Main Street, U.S.A. is Carnation Cafe. Try the spinach and tomato egg white frittata, which comes with breakfast potatoes and fresh fruit, but request all fruit instead for a healthy, light breakfast. For lunch or dinner you can enjoy a spinach and grilled chicken salad.

One of my favorite options for a snack or light meal in Disneyland Park is Bengal Barbecue, a quick-service stand featuring beef, chicken, bacon-wrapped asparagus and fresh vegetable skewers. Try the chicken skewer (you can request that the Polynesian sauce be held or served on the side) with an all-veggie skewer for a protein-packed on-the-go snack.

In Disney California Adventure Park, stop by Paradise Garden Grill for a lemon oregano chicken Mediterranean-style skewer and Greek salad. Pacific Wharf Cafe offers a tasty chicken, apple and walnut salad. For a table-service option, at Wine Country Trattoria you’ll find hearty entree salads and grilled fish that I think would suit your needs well. Don’t hesitate to ask your server about modifying a dish to make it lighter. I think you’ll find many wonderful ways to accommodate your diet plan at almost every restaurant!

I hope this helps you, Jenny. Please visit again with more questions as your pixie-dusted vacation approaches!

    Wishing you magic,
