My husband and I are going to be at Disney World with our son for his 2nd birthday. What dining options do you recommend? We will have a dining plan and would love to take advantage of shows or character dining.

    Hi, Sarah!

What a perfect vacation.  You get to celebrate your son's birthday and because he is under age 3, he will not need a park ticket!  I love Birthdays and I love FREE so you have it all going on!

I would start with a few character meals.  Chef Mickey's at the Contemporary (just a short walk from the Magic Kingdom) is a perfect location with Mickey and his best pals there to dine with you, pose for pictures, and even sign autographs.  Make sure to let your server know you have a special birthday guest at your table!

Another great dining location will be Crystal Palace where you will see Pooh and his silly friends.  This restaurant, located in the heart of the Magic Kingdom, is open for breakfast, lunch, or dinner, so choose your favorite meal and book a reservation!

Both of these restaurants are buffets so your son can share off your plate at no charge.  Your server will be happy to bring him a beverage in a child's cup.

With a toddler, I would probably avoid Dinner Shows as these might get a bit long for a little one.  Other Table Service options that will be family-friendly but delicious!
-50's Prime Time Café in Hollywood Studios
-Hollywood & Vine in Hollywood Studios (breakfast or lunch buffet with Disney Junior pals)
-Chefs de France in Epcot (lunch will be your best option)
-Tusker House at Animal Kingdom (breakfast buffet with Donald Duck and friends)

These are a few to start with.  Let me know if you need other dining suggestions or birthday ideas for your darling little Prince!   Wishing you a very magical vacation in Walt Disney World!

Meet the Panelist: Cathy, Ohio

Hi, I'm Cathy from Cleveland. I love to travel, especially in the winter to escape the snow and cold of Ohio! My husband and 2 kids share my enthusiasm for travel, so we enjoy our adventures together whether it is hiking at a National Park, sailing on a Disney Cruise Ship, or going to Walt Disney World which is our home away from home. My husband proposed to me in front of Cinderella Castle and we have not stopped visiting ever since! It's a blast helping guests here at planDisney!
