My husband and I have Disney tickets that still have 5 days remaining on them. We are planning a family trip to Magic Kingdom on 4/1/2024 and would like to use one of the remaining days how do I reserve that day for us

Hey Howdy Hey Deann and welcome to planDisney!

It is so exciting to hear you will be visiting Magic Kingdom for your upcoming family trip in just a few short weeks! Thank you for your question on theme park tickets. I will be happy to give you more information on how to use them so you can be all set for your upcoming trip.

The first thing we need to figure out is what type of theme park tickets you have. Not all tickets are created equally and tickets that may have been sold a few years back may currently not be sold and their usage can be different. If you and your husband have tickets that do not expire, you can check on these in your My Disney Experience account. Once you log in, go to the "My Plans, Reservations and Tickets" section and look for the heading "Tickets, Passes & Memory Maker which you will click on. If you see your tickets there, this is a good first step. If not, let's review first what to do if your tickets are there and then will come back to this part.

If you do see your tickets, you may have theme park tickets that do not expire. Disney has recently updated their policy on Theme Park Reservations with those individuals who have date-based tickets no longer need reservations. At this time, you may need reservations to enter the parks. You will then need to go to the Theme Parks Reservations page to make a reservation for the day you want to use your tickets. As with anything, new technology and older technology may not play nicely with each other all the time. If you have issues with this part, you can call Disney and a Cast Member will help get this issue resolved.

Now, if you log onto your My Disney Experience account and do not see your tickets this would be a different process. Most tickets do come with an expiration date and usually, when this passes, tickets will drop from your My Disney Experience account. Not to worry though Deann, Disney usually will honor the price that was paid for the tickets to the purchase of new tickets. You will have to call Disney and a Cast Member will be able to see your unused tickets and get this process started. You most likely will be set up for date-based tickets, ones you do not need Theme Park Reservations for and should be all set for your day in the park after this.

As vacations to the Walt Disney World Resort ramp up over this spring break season, I wanted to let you know about Genie+ and Lightning Lanes. Genie+ is an optional purchase for your party that will unlock the ability to book Lightning Lanes. Lightning Lanes are quicker access to attractions throughout the parks so you can spend more time enjoying the park and less time spent waiting in traditional stand-by lines. This might come in handy with expected higher crowd volumes to make the most of your time in the park!

I hope this information helped get your tickets set for your day in Magic Kingdom. If you have any further questions, please feel free to reach out and let us know, we are always happy to help!

    Have a Magical day,

    Nick
