my husband and I are going to Disney on dec 31. our flight lands at 8pm. we are staying at the boardwalk hotel. what park should we run to to celebrate new years! And if we dont get in what else should we do. We are forty yrs old so keep in that in mind!

    Hi Kathy,

What an exciting way to ring in the New Year!!!  Since your flight lands at 8:00, I'm guessing you won't get to your room until around 10:00.  The parks will probably be REALLY that evening.  Fortunately, your location allows you to walk quite easily to Epcot.  It can handle large crowds, so it may not be at capacity -- although, I don't know if you'll really want to use up one day of admission for a couple of hours spent standing around.

If it were me, I'd plan on hanging out on the Boardwalk.  Be sure to check with your resort before you arrive (407-939-5100) for any special events that may be occurring. There's nightly entertainment, and there will probably be even more than usual given the holiday.  You'll be able to catch some of the fireworks from Illuminations from there as well.

If you're feeling up to it, you may be able to get into Jellyrolls, Atlantic Dance Club or Kimonos in the Swan- although they may be filled to capacity by the time you arrive.  In any case, I'm sure there will be enough going on to help you ring in the New Year in style.

Hope this helps.  Have a magical vacation and a Happy New Year!!!

Meet the Panelist: Diane, Georgia

After spending 25 years in RI, my husband and I relocated to GA with our youngest, who is now in high school. I took my first trip to Walt Disney World when I was 11 and I have traveled many times since then with all different party sizes. From creating our first itinerary as a honeymooner to later creating magical experiences for our multigenerational family gatherings, every aspect of planning a vacation has been pure joy to me.  Learn More About Diane
