Hi, my husband and I will be going to Disney, 12-5-13 12-9-13 the 8th is my birthday, can you recommend a restaurant that will be a memorable one, but not to childish.. Thank you

    Hi Donna,

My husband's birthday is that same week in December, and we usually celebrate at Walt Disney World, so I'm happy to offer some of our favorite special occasion restaurants.

One of our top picks is the California Grill atop the Contemporary resort. It has been the site of many birthday and anniversary dinners, and there's nothing childish about the atmosphere or the cuisine (though children are welcome). The restaurant recently reopened after a months-long renovation to the interior and the menu. The view of Magic Kingdom is spectacular, and we love the food.

We also are big fans of Narcoossee's at the Grand Floridian resort, Artist Point at the Wilderness Lodge, Flying Fish Cafe at Boardwalk and Jiko at Animal Kingdom Lodge. We've also celebrated special occasions at each of these and recommend the cuisine and the ambiance.

You might want to look over the menus of each to see what might appeal most to you and your husband. I also highly recommend that you make advanced dining reservations. Even though the first week in December is not super crowded, you still will want to be sure you have a guaranteed spot in these popular restaurants.

You will be at Walt Disney World at a beautiful time of year. We always enjoy spending some of our time touring the resorts to take in the decorations.

Wishing you a wonderful visit and a happy birthday celebration for your husband. Please let me know if I can answer any other questions for you. Enjoy!
