Hi Krista!
Thanks for sailing to the Disney Parks Moms Panel with this wonderful question! My son needs a wheelchair to navigate his way through our adventure-filled days at home and at sea. I can tell you firsthand that Disney Cruise Line goes above and beyond to accommodate Guests of all different abilities.
Your husband is going to find
Disney's private island, Castaway Cay, to be quite accessible! I'm thrilled to share that there is an accessible-friendly private cabana on Castaway Cay's Family Beach. Private Cabana #1 has a ramp leading up to the entrance as well as a ramp leading out the back down to the sand beach. During our most recent Disney Cruise, we enjoyed this cabana and rolled my son right into our island getaway with ease!
If you haven't done so already, I recommend giving the
Special Services Team a call at (407) 566-3602 before your voyage to discuss any additional accommodations your husband might need while onboard. They might even recommend an accommodation that you didn't know was available! We call Special Services before each voyage aboard Disney Cruise Line and they've always been compassionate, warm and so helpful!
Krista, I'm wishing you an unforgettable cruise! If you can think of any more questions, please come back and visit us again! We're here to make your vacation planning as smooth-sailing as possible.
Beth
