My husband is 50% disabled veteran does he qualify for discounted tickets for the parks?

Hi Danielle, and welcome to planDisney.

Please thank your husband for his service and sacrifice. As a military spouse, I know that the whole family serves, and I'd like to also thank you for your service and support. My husband returned from deployment earlier this year, and we celebrated our reunion with a visit to the Walt Disney World Resort - it was the perfect place for us to enjoy together time and make memories. I'm so glad to hear you'll be doing the same this coming spring!

The Disney Military Salute theme park tickets are a great value. Your best bet is to take a look at the eligibility requirements in the Offer Details. If your husband was medically retired and holds a current retired military ID, he will be eligible to purchase those tickets. Those tickets can be purchased at your base ticket office and he will need to show his military ID to activate the tickets at a Guest Relations window once you arrive at Walt Disney World.

If he doesn't have a current military ID, I recommend taking a look at Shades of Green, which is the resort for military personnel located on Walt Disney World property. They allow non-retired veterans to stay during certain months of the year and may have tickets available (these are usually at a lower discount) to veterans without military IDs. Their website is a helpful resource, and I've found their staff to be very friendly and knowledgeable should you need to give them a call to hear more about your options.

Finally, I always recommend taking a look at the current Special Offers. There may be some great offers available during your visit dates, and it's worth keeping an eye on those options. I also like to read the Disney Parks Blog for the latest news and fun planning stories.

Thank you for bringing your question to planDisney, Danielle! As you continue to plan and dream about your 2022 Walt Disney World Resort vacation, please come back and us. It's always a pleasure to help a fellow Guest plan a vacation that is practically perfect in every way.

    Wishing you much magic,
    Robyn
