Hello, Jackie! First of all, thank you very much to your husband for his service and to your family for the sacrifices you surely made in support of his service.
The current
Military Promotional Ticket, which is available for the
Walt Disney World theme parks, does include disabled veterans among the eligible service members, however, the service member must be 100% service connected, permanently disabled (you'll see a DAVPRM on the military ID card). While other disabled service men and women may not qualify for this discount, in the months of January and September, the Shades of Green resort is available to any member of the military, past or present, who was honorably discharged and can present their DD-214.
We have stayed at Shades of Green, and I have to say, the rooms there are absolutely beautiful. They are huge, which is great for spreading out and getting comfortable, and the amenities at the resort are really very nice. The best thing is that your room rate is based on your military rank, and they are so affordable. My husband was also disabled as a result of an accident that ended his military career, and it's so nice to be able to take advantage of the January/September offer at such an incredible rate for this type of accommodation.
Thank you again, Jackie, for all your family has given to provide for the safety and security of this great nation.
Anna
