My husband is 100% disabled from the military and I was wondering, how can I access a wheelchair for him when we arrive?

    Hi there, Green!

We are so happy you made your way to planDisney with your question. We love helping fellow Guests navigate their way to and through the magic at the Happiest Place on Earth. The Disneyland Resort strives to make the magic as accessible as possible to all Guests, so let's take a look at your question and see how we can ensure a fun and comfortable visit for you and your husband.

If you are just coming for the day, wheelchairs and ECVs are available to rent on a first-come, first-served basis from the Stroller Shop just to the right of the Main Entrance of Disneyland Park. We recommend heading there early in the day. If you are planning a multi-day visit, you may want to consider renting a wheelchair from a third-party vendor like ScooterBug that can actually drop off and pick up the mobility device from your hotel at the start and end of your trip.

There is a lot of support within the parks themselves for Guests with mobility needs. The Accessibility Services Kiosk in the Main Entrance Espalande is a great place to start if you have a question once you are on the ground. When it comes to attractions, there are several ways Guests are required to board various rides, and you can actually pull up this information directly in the Disneyland App if you'd like to do a little pre-planning. Simply search for the specific attraction and tap the "Accessibility & Other Information" drop-down menu for details. There is also a handy Accessibility Planning Guide, which provides comprehensive tips and information to ensure you have a magical visit. Of course, you can always ask the nearest Cast Member for assistance as well.

Green, I hope this has been helpful! You are visiting just after the holiday festivities have ended, which may make for slightly lower crowds and more space to move around the parks. I like to visit that second week of January for this specific reason. I hope you and your husband have a magical visit! If you have any more questions, we are always here for you at planDisney.

    Happy New Year!
