My husband and I are disabled, how does disability work?

Dear Connie, thanks for stopping by planDisney with your question. You must be very excited for your upcoming visit to the Happiest Place on Earth!

Connie, as you are now within 2-30 days of your arrival, you can request a video chat to get the process started for the Disability Access Service (DAS) program. DAS is designed to support Guests who have difficulty waiting in queues for long periods of time. Both you and your husband should be present on the video chat so you can request DAS for both of you. If deemed eligible, the Cast Member will help you get registered, and you can even pre-select two attractions per day of your visit prior to your arrival with the recently introduced DAS Advance feature.

DAS will not provide immediate access to attractions; rather, with DAS, you can schedule return times for attractions to avoid waiting in long lines. I strongly recommend having a look at the list of attractions with your husband to prioritize the ones most important to you, and request those first during your DAS registration process!

If possible, download the Disneyland mobile app so you can make your DAS selections from the app while in the parks. If you’d prefer to make the selections in person, Hakuna Matata, that is possible too, at any Guest Services location.

Connie, another tip - you could consider getting Disney Genie+ service and using it along with DAS. This can double your cosmic power to do more attractions in the same amount of time. Genie+ offers Lightning Lanes for 19 attractions across the two theme parks, which are shorter queues to reduce wait times. You can make DAS selections concurrently with Genie+ selections. For instance, you could request “it’s a small world” through DAS and Big Thunder Mountain Railroad through Genie+. You will be able to manage both in the app. If you opt to add Genie+ service, you can do so through the app after you have entered the theme parks. This is just an option - you don't need Genie+ to use DAS.

I hope this information is helpful! Have the most magical vacation, Connie!
