Hi there, Tamara, and welcome to planDisney! I'm so thankful that you've decided to stop by with this great question about your upcoming vacation to the Most Magical Place on Earth. It sounds like your visit will be here before you know it, and you must be getting so excited!
Tamara, you'll be happy to know that adding a guest with their own set of
Advance Dining Reservations to your Family & Friends will not affect the reservations you've made. One of my favorite things about the
My Disney Experience Mobile App is the ability to make plans with other guests in the Family & Friends feature, and simultaneously have plans of your own. It's helpful to know what the other members of your party are up to, so that you can plan for intentional time together when it's convenient for everybody.
I'll give you two examples of my recent experience so you can see what I'm talking about! During my latest Walt Disney World Resort vacation, half of our large extended family really wanted to go to
Chef Mickey's at
Disney's Contemporary Resort for dinner. My kids decided they'd rather eat dinner at
Magic Kingdom Park, so that we could continue to experience lots of attractions. We made reservations at a restaurant in the park, and the others made reservations for Chef Mickey's. Though our entire family was connected in My Disney Experience, we had no trouble having simultaneous reservations at different restaurants.
We've also experienced the necessity of making multiple dining reservations for our large party, due to no large tables being available. At one point, three members of my party, who were all connected in Family & Friends, had concurrent reservations at a single restaurant. We informed the Cast Member at check-in that we were all together, and they did their best to seat us at nearby tables.
Tamara, I hope this is helpful to you as you prepare for your visit! Please stop back by planDisney with any other questions you have as you continue your countdown!
See you real soon!
Jennifer
