My husband is 70 and on dialysis. He has difficulty breathing and walking long distances. He would like to go to Disney world. Do you have scooters available to rent ?

Hi Karen, and welcome to planDisney!

Having access to an ECV or wheelchair is essential to many guests who visit Walt Disney World Resort!

ECV Rentals are available to guests within the theme parks and visiting Disney Springs. When you arrive, visit Guest Services, and you will be able to rent the ECV by the day or for the length of your stay. For example, you plan to visit all four theme parks over four days; pay the fee upfront for the four days, and each time you visit a theme park, you will show your receipt. It is the same process for Disney Springs.

Because you will need to return the ECV to Guest Services before leaving the theme parks, I recommend looking into one of the Disney Featured Providers, scooterbug dot com, or call (800) 726-8284. This company is able to deliver the ECV to your resort and pick it up the day of your departure. This will also help get around outside of the theme parks, and when you visit the theme parks, you won't have to rent and return an ECV to Guest Services.

One tip I like to share: There may be complimentary wheelchairs available in the parking lots to assist with the transport to the theme park's main gate. Once you arrive, exchange the wheelchair for the ECV.

Please let us know how we can assist you further.

    Have a magical experience!
