My husband is deployed but will get 2 weeks leave-we want to take it at WDW. Have stayed at Bwalk and loved it, but thinking of Beach Club this time. I've seen unfavorable reviews for BC. Your opinion? Any military discounts? We like DDP so SOG is out.

Hiya Judy!  First of all, I have to share with you something I learned long ago: for every negative review you hear or read, you could easily balance them out with an equal number of rave reviews.  It is a philosophy that really holds true for all aspects of WDW travel, from accommodations to dining, so don't be too swayed by what you've heard.

Let me be the first to prove my theory correct with a glowing review of the Beach Club.  My family stayed there for two weeks last fall and loved every minute of it.  The Beach Club resort has one of the most relaxing atmospheres around, and is located in super convenient proximity to Epcot.  Our room had been recently refurbished and was gorgeous.  The kids (okay fine, me too) loved the pool.  Even our meal at Beaches and Cream was a hit.  In my opinion, you can't go wrong with a stay there.  In fact, if it were up to me, I'd choose to stay there again this fall.  My kids are itching to try out the Grand Floridian though, so it looks like I'll have to suffer through.  :)

As for military discounts, boy are you in luck!  Disney is offering some fabulous deals to members of the armed forces.  Click here for details on the savings to be had.

Oh, and when your husband gets home, will you do me the favor of telling him I'm glad he's home safely?  I hope you both will enjoy a well-deserved, magical vacation!

I'm Darcie, and my friends would be the first to tell you that Disney trip planning (especially dining!) is my love language. Of course, the vacations my family enjoys today look much different than they did when our kids were little, but while some of our favorite activities have evolved, Disney destinations still top our travel wish lists.
