My husband and I have decided to take our 2year old and 5 month old daughters to Disney at the end of April. Would it be better to stay at the Polynesian or a Boardwalk villa? Or, perhaps, another suggestion? We like the travel convenience of both.

    Hi Erin!

Thank you for sending in your question to the Walt Disney World Moms Panel.  Both are excellent resorts and there are fans of both.  However, I recommend going with the Polynesian Resort for the following reasons:
    • The Polynesian Resort is on the Magic Kingdom monorail line.  That makes it very easy to go to and from the Magic Kingdom, the favorite resort of most young children.  If you spend most of your time in the Magic Kingdom, being able to return to your room for a break or a nap will be a big plus.
    • The Polynesian Resort also provides easy access to Epcot via a monorail transfer at the Transportation and Ticket Center (TT&C).  You can also walk to the TT&C, but depending on the location of your room at the resort it might be a long walk.
    • The Polynesian Resort is the most romantic resort on property and has a great theme.  There are also some great restaurants at the resort.  You can also take the monorail to get to restaurants in other resorts on the monorail line quickly.

The Boardwalk is a great resort for guests who want to spend a lot of time at Epcot or Disney's Hollywood Studios, though I personally prefer the Beach Club and the Yacht Club over the Boardwalk.  That's mostly because of Stormalong Bay, the pool shared between the Beach Club and the Yacht Club.  It's easily the best pool on property.

The only other suggestion I have is to consider the Animal Kingdom Lodge.  It is a favorite of many young children; most children love watching the exotic animals right outside the resort.  My 7 year old son has been in love with the Animal Kingdom Lodge for years.

I hope this helps!  It's never an easy decision picking a resort to stay at.  Write back with more questions!
