Hello Roseann,
I can imagine you're all counting down the days until your visit to the Walt Disney World Resort!
Thanks for your great question. MagicBands or theme park admission cards? How to choose? The great news is that you have options for what to use when you enter a Walt Disney World Resort theme park with your valid theme park admission.
You're correct that your 2-year-old Mouseketeer grandson will not need a theme park admission ticket. The rest of the Mouseketeers in your party will each need theme park admission and some way to present that theme park admission when entering a theme park.
In my view, it's really a matter of personal preference whether a Guest chooses to
wear a MagicBand,
carry a theme park admission card, or use the
Disney MagicMobile Service on a mobile device. Even better, Guests can alternate between the options and choose what's most convenient.
Let's start with MagicBands. They're fun, cool, comfortable, sizeable, and stylish. Your 5-year-old grandson might want to show off his
favorite Disney friend or attraction. Everyone choosing to use a MagicBand will need their own (or have someone carry it for them) because
MagicBands are unique for each Guest.
My own personal preference for using a MagicBand is to use a
MagicKeeper that holds the the Mickey Icon from the MagicBand. I like to wear a wristwatch (classic Mickey Mouse watch, of course) and I find that the MagicKeeper on a retractable cord is super convenient. This could be a fun option for your
5-year-old grandson if he's not keen on wearing a MagicBand. Now let's talk about the
Disney MagicMobile Service. This could be a great option for those in your party who have their own My Disney Experience accounts. They can create a Disney MagicMobile pass and add it to their digital wallet on their smart phone. Then they simply hold up their phone to an access point when entering a theme park. This could be a good option to set up a Disney MagicMobile pass for your 5-year-old grandson on your mobile phone (or the smart phone of the person in your party who has your grandson's theme park ticket linked to their account.)
Of course, you can always carry and use a theme park admission card. If you're staying at a Walt Disney World Resort hotel, you could also carry a Key To The World card for each Guest for their theme park admission.
One additional tip: be sure to make your theme park reservations with the
Disney Park Pass system.
Roseann, I hope this helps you see you have lots of options for each Mouseketeer in your party to use whichever option is a good choice for them to enter the theme parks with their valid admission.
Here's wishing you a wonderful and fun visit to the Walt Disney World Resort!
Jerry
