Hi! My husband daughter and I are going to WDW early this summer, have 5 day PH tickets. Travelling w/ family, 10 of us in all. Any suggestions on how to make sure we have time for just the 3 of us while still getting along with everyone? Thanks!

Traveling with large parties can be so fun, Kathryn, but it can also be difficult, logistically speaking.  My suggestion is to speak with your group before hand so that you can all voice your expectations for the trip.  Depending upon how much time you all want to spend together, perhaps you can plan to maybe spend mornings together, have some free time in the afternoons, and meet up again for dinner.  Another suggestion would be to plan just one major event to do together each day (ie., the Hoop-Dee-Doo Musical Revue or Fantasmic!) and leave the rest open for family time.  That way, when you all come together for the one event, you can talk about the attractions you've enjoyed on your own!  I truly believe that the best way to avoid hurt feelings is to set out expectations before you arrive.  I hope that one of my suggestions will give you a springboard from which to start that conversation with your traveling party.

Given your inclination to plan a magical trip, I can already tell we have a lot in common. I'm Darcie, and my friends would be the first to tell you that Disney trip planning (especially dining!) is my love language. Of course, the vacations my family enjoys today look much different than they did when our kids were little, but while some of our favorite activities have evolved, Disney destinations still top our travel wish lists. Let's work together to plan a downright dreamy vacation for your family! Learn More About Darcie
