My husband, daughter, and I are coming to Disney for the first time. We are taking the magical express from the airport to the hotel. Do we have to go to the hotel and check in first or can we go directly to a theme park? If so what happens to our luggage?

    Hi Tracey!

You should go directly to the Front Desk and check-in, especially if you are on a package reservation (meaning room and tickets).  If you are on a package, that is the only way to pick up your tickets.  Don't worry.  If your room is not ready, you will still be given a Key to the World card with your ticket information on it.

If your room is not ready, Bell Services at your hotel will just hold your luggage until your room is ready.  Also, be aware that if you let Disney's Magical Express pick up your luggage for you, then it can be several hours before it is delivered to your room anyways!  If you don't use the luggage tags provided and pick up the luggage yourself, then your luggage will travel with you to your hotel.  In that case, just leave your luggage with Bell Services if your room is not ready.

By the way, since you said this is your first visit, I highly recommend picking up the book "The Complete Walt Disney World" by Julie and Mike Neal.  It is a great book for first time visitors, as it is full of information without being overwhelming.  It is also a beautiful book full of color photographs.  It will give you a good feel for everything there is to do at Walt Disney World.

I hope this helps!  Write back if you have any more questions!
