    My husband and I currently have the 4 day military pass. Are we able to upgrade that to a magic key pass?

    Welcome to planDisney! I'm always so grateful to meet our military families, thank you for your service. 

    Looking at the Magic Key Buying Guide we can see that eligible Disneyland Theme Park Tickets can be upgraded to a Magic Key. If you have used some of the days on your ticket (but not all of them) you can follow these steps to see if your ticket is eligible for upgrade and purchase your Magic Key:

    • Open the Disneyland Mobile App and go to the "Tickets and Passes" section
    • Look at the tickets linked to your app and see if the app says they are eligible for an upgrade 
    • Tap the upgrade option and follow the instructions
    • Note that you can only upgrade tickets to a Magic Key if that pass type is currently available for purchase

    Fully used tickets, partially used expired tickets, complimentary tickets, special event tickets, and tickets that say they are ineligible for an upgrade won't be able to be upgraded to a Magic Key pass. If you have more questions about your specific tickets I would recommend calling the "Tickets" phone number to speak with a Cast Member.

    If you have not yet used any days on your tickets then you won't be able to upgrade through the app; you might be able to upgrade at the Disneyland ticket booths, but I would try calling to ask a Cast Member about that option before you go. Again, the opportunity to upgrade relies on passes still being available for purchase.

    Even if you can't upgrade, the military tickets are a great deal! I hope you'll be able to visit soon and enjoy the Disney California Adventure Food & Wine Festival, there are some delicious snacks and treats as well as some great entertainment. My favorite thing about the festival is that we get to enjoy Soarin' Over California again!
