My husband and I are coming for 3 weeks in July 2016. We are getting the DDP. Do you think it is a good thing when you are staying as long as we are to get the DDP? We have always got the DD. We want more character meals and higher end ones. Thank you

    Hello Theresa,

Welcome back to the Disney Parks Moms Panel and thank you for asking us another excellent question! 3 weeks in Walt Disney World Resort? I only have one thing to say: TAKE ME WITH YOU!!

With respect to adding on the Disney Dining Plan, I think that the answer really does depend on your individual touring style. Personally, I would find that to be a lot of food over a 3 week stay. That being said, if you’re used to having the Disney Dining Plan during your visits to Walt Disney World Resort, and you’re planning to have some “off” days where, say, you won’t visit a Table Service restaurant and you’ll save those credits for a Signature Dining or Dinner Show experience, then you would definitely be able to make the Plan work for your family.

My suggestion: if you’re going to be staying at Walt Disney World Resort for 3 weeks, I think that getting Annual Passes would be an excellent investment for you, both for Theme Park admission and for the perks you may get! As part of those perks: you can purchase a Tables in Wonderland membership, which will give you and your husband a 20% discount in most of the Table Service restaurants at Walt Disney World Resort, as well as several Counter Service restaurants. I’ve honestly found that to be a better value for my family’s touring (and eating!) style, especially because we aren’t big dessert eaters and I love having a glass of wine with my meal.

I hope my answer helps you plan your (fabulous!!) vacation. Please don’t hesitate to come back and visit us if you have any other questions.

    Have a Magical Day,

    Lynne
