Hello Yvonne, and welcome to planDisney! First things first – I'd like to wish you and your husband a very happy anniversary. There's nowhere more magical to celebrate than the Disneyland Resort! I have some ideas to make the visit extra special. But first, let's talk about what to wear!
At this time, the
Disneyland Resort Property Rules don't directly prohibit bridal attire, but it is stated that admission may be denied to any person wearing attire that could detract from the experience of other Guests. A wedding dress (even shortened to not drag on the ground) could possibly fall into that category. It would be a Bibbidi Bobbidi Bummer if you encountered any issues because of this, or if your dress got stained or dirtied while at the park.
My recommendation, Yvonne, would be to get a comfortable dress that you feel great in – one that isn't formal wear. Just make sure the dress doesn't drag on the ground. There are bride and groom Disney ears that you can purchase in the park – that could be a cute nod to your anniversary in any photos. You can also pick up a few complimentary “Happily Ever After” buttons. These are usually found at City Hall on Main Street, U.S.A. and at many retail shops. It may also be fun to shop for a unique Disney dress at the Resort – it's like a souvenir that you can wear!
D-Lander in the Downtown Disney District comes to mind as a good place to check.
Now, let's talk about some ways to sprinkle a little pixie dust on your trip.
- If you purchase the Lightning Lane Multi Pass, you'll get unlimited Disney PhotoPass digital downloads from your day, on top of being able to access shorter queues at popular attractions. You can use the Disneyland mobile app to book Lightning Lane selections and also learn where to find PhotoPass photographers.
- Get a reservation for a table-service restaurant, like Blue Bayou or Lamplight Lounge. Start looking for reservations now to secure a table. Additional reservations can be released at any time, so keep checking if there's a location you are particularly interested in. You can also check at the restaurant on the day of to see if walk-up reservations are available, although that's not guaranteed.
- Consider a dining package for certain nighttime spectaculars. I highly recommend the World of Color Dessert Party in California Adventure – you'll have great seats to watch the show, and you'll each get a box of snacks and treats. I went with my mom and sister earlier this year, and it was a truly memorable experience.
Of course, visiting with Characters, going on attractions, sharing sweet treats, and enjoying all the entertainment offerings will also be a big part of the magic during your trip. You will have a fantastic time.
Pixie dust is in the air! I hope your visit feels like a real-life fairytale, Yvonne. Please reach out if you have any other questions. We're always happy to help here at planDisney.
Wishing you happiness,
Kriss
