HI! My husband and I are coming November 4-10 for the Food and wine festival and Mickey's Very Merry Christmas. I have 2 questions. 1. Should we avoid Epcot on the 6-8 because of the half marathon? 2. Is there any other Christmas festivities going on?

    Greetings, Dana-Maree!

I hope you are looking forward to a fabulous fall vacation to Walt Disney World® Resort. Vacationing during the Epcot® International Food & Wine Festival presented by Chase® is one of my favorite times to visit.

You do not need to avoid Epcot® during the Disney Wine & Dine Half Marathon Weekend. While this event does bring extra guests on property, crowd levels are estimated to be very reasonable with Sunday being the only day that gets above a 5 out of 10, the day runners are ready to "enjoy" themselves. And the race itself will not hinder your plans, it does not start until 10:00pm on Saturday.

For festive Christmas fun during your visit, Mickey's Very Merry Christmas Party will be the only yuletide activity up and running during this weekend - it's actually the kick-off of this most merry party. Most resort and theme parks will not yet be fully decorated; Epcot will not install its holiday theming until after the Food & Wine Festival. However, you may find the holiday spirit beginning to magically appear a little each day during your stay at other locations.

Hope this helps, Dana-Maree! Please do not hesitate to reach out to us for all your vacation planning questions.

    Cheers!
