My husband is coming home from a deployment (army) and we are taking a 4 day disney vaca with our 1 year old and 2 year old... any suggestions to make this re-integration with daddy and our family vacation go smoother please feel free to let me know!!

    Hi Kara,

Thanks so much for writing and thank you to your husband for his service to our country!  I can't think of a better place to welcome home your hero than at Walt Disney World!  With two little ones in tow, Magic Kingdom is a great place to spend your first day of vacation.  The park is filled with attractions that are absolutely perfect for your newly-reunited family.  It's a Small World, Peter Pan, The Magic Carpets of Aladdin, Jungle Cruise, Buzz Lightyear, and The Many Adventures of Winnie the Pooh are just a few attractions that you can all ride together. I would sandwich another park in between a repeat visit to Magic Kingdom on your last day.

You might want to make reservations for a special "welcome home daddy" dinner to celebrate your husband's homecoming.  A character dinner at Chef Mickey's is a perfect venue.  You can make reservations up to 120 days in advance of your trip by calling 407-WDW-DINE (939-3463).  Disney's dinner shows are another wonderful way to end a day.  Mickey's Backyard BBQ, The Hoop De Do Revue and The Spirit of Aloha Show are fun and food-filled musical shows that are all family favorites in my house!

For a second park, I recommend Animal Kingdom for little ones.  Affection Section, Kilimanjaro Safari and Tricera Top Spin are all wonderful attractions for your entire family.  In addition, Finding Nemo The Musical and the Festival of the Lion King are magnificent theatrical performances that your family is sure to love.

Epcot also has many attractions that your little ones will enjoy, including  Journey into Imagination, The Seas with Nemo and Friends and Turtle Talk with Crush.

I hope some of these suggestions help your family to have a magical welcome home trip!
