Hello! My husband is coming home from Afghanistan in early October. And we plan on visiting WDW with our 3 yr old at the end of October. Is there a First Timer's guide to be found anywhere? I can't seem to weed through all the comments on here?!

Hi Erin!  There really isn't a guide through the panel although if you stop and read through each category you can gain a lot of insight on what is happening at Walt Disney World and how to enjoy it all.  I suggest families who are visiting for the first time to invest and buy one of the great guide books at your local bookstore.  There are several that I enjoy such as the Idiot's Guide to Walt Disney World by Doug Ingersoll, Birnbaum's Official Guide to Walt Disney World by Steve Birnbaum, and Passporter's Walt Disney World.

Use the books as a good reference but never come on a vacation feeling like you have to do it all or do it on someone else's terms.  Just enjoy what you can and prioritize what you hope to accomplish and experience. Select a Disney resort for the best way to get to know the entire property and make sure you select some dining and get those reservations as soon as possible. Some families build their itineraries around the dining and other families choose the dining to go along with the itinerary of where they will be on a certain day. Whatever works best for you is the right way to do it.

As you plan and have specific questions don't hesitate to ask the panel.  It is best to ask one question at a time for best results and if you know a panel member might have the experience to help with something then don't hesitate to ask them personally in their queue. We all love to help guests and hope each and every one of them have a magical vacation!
