Hi Tina!
Thanks for stopping by planDisney. Congratulations on reaching this milestone anniversary. I cannot imagine a more magical place to celebrate your happily ever after than Disneyland!
Complimentary SouvenirWhen you arrive at the park, head over to Town Hall to pick up a
complimentary “Happily Ever After” button to celebrate your 50th Anniversary. You and your husband can wear them around the park, and I’m sure you will get plenty of congratulations from Guests and Cast Members. Hopefully, even a little extra pixie dust comes your way! The buttons also make cute keepsakes and great photo props.
Personalized SouvenirIf you are looking for another souvenir to mark this special occasion, consider getting some
leather Mickey Ears for you and your husband. Recently, the stores have begun to carry a white version of the ears; paired with the black Mickey Ears, they would make a very cute wedding-inspired look. You can get the ears customized with hand-painting over at
Plaza Point (Disneyland) or at
Julius Katz & Sons (California Adventure). Each store has a book of designs you can choose from, and I did see some that would be perfect for celebrating a wedding anniversary. You can also add text to the ears to mark your 50th Anniversary. They make a wonderful personalized gift to take home.
Photo ExcursionSpeaking of photos,
Disney PhotoPass used to offer a “Photo Excursion” package for Guests. This included a 10- to 15-minute photo shoot with a Disney PhotoPass photographer in one of the four lands. It would be a great opportunity for you and your husband to take some lovely photos together.
I recommend asking in person if it’s still available. The PhotoPass Concierge is located at the Newsstand, just outside the Disneyland gates. But even if it’s no longer offered, no worries! There are PhotoPass photographers stationed throughout the park, and you can use the Disneyland app to find their current locations. You can take some great photos by the castle or near Fantasyland.
Romantic DinnerI checked Dining reservations across Disneyland and California Adventure, and there are still many great options available for your travel dates. One of my personal favorites is dinner at
Carthay Circle Lounge. The ambiance is on the fancier side and makes for a very romantic dinner setting. If you make reservations online, be sure to indicate that you are celebrating your anniversary.
Romantic FireworksEnd your night with a wonderful view of the fireworks show. Many people don’t realize you can watch the fireworks from behind the castle, near the Dumbo ride. It is much less crowded, and it feels like you’re right inside the show! It’s a fantastic, lesser-known spot to enjoy a romantic moment together. All the Disney magic and minimal crowds.
I hope this was helpful, Tina! Don’t hesitate to come back with more questions. We here at planDisney are always happy to sprinkle a little extra pixie dust on your next Disney adventure.
Have a magical anniversary!
