Hi there! My husband and I are coming to Disney World in September to celebrate our 2nd Anniversary and my birthday. Could you give me some suggestions of how to save money during our vacation at Disney?

    Howdy Anna!

First, happy early birthday and early congratulations on your second wedding anniversary. Both are such special occasions and where better to celebrate than at the Most Magical Place On Earth? My husband and I celebrated our honeymoon and several anniversaries, so I can tell you from experience, you and your hubby are going to have an incredible time! Saving money while on vacation is always a priority of ours as well. I like to pinch a few pennies here and there so we are able to splurge on one big meal or experience for our special celebrations. Hopefully these few tips make that possible for you two as well.

    1. It's important to stay hydrated with the heat, humidity and constant walking, but the cost of drinks can add up quickly. Tip: You can request a free cup of ice water from quick-service locations--even if you aren't dining there! We do this often to stay cool and refreshed. We even bring water flavoring (packets or the small squeeze bottles) for an extra treat.

    2. Disney dining is one my favorite parts of any vacation, but again, snacks and meals can be expensive. I like to have an idea of where we may want to stop and view the menus before we go. Not only does it give me an idea of price, but I also find many items that are big enough to share or kids menu items that sound delicious! As an example, Flame Tree Barbecue is one of my favorite spots and they pulled-pork cheese fries as a side item. They are big enough for a snack for two or a meal for one and are a couple dollars less than most entrees.

    3. Take advantage of the free entertainment all around Walt Disney World Resort. Chip 'n' Dale's Campfire Sing-a-long is fun, visit the Tri-Circle-D Ranch, or watch the Movies Under The Stars together.

Please let me know if I can assist you any further in planning your magical vacation, Anna! Have a wonderful time.
