My husband, 5 children(3 girls 2 boys) and I will be going to WDW most of us for the 1st time in late OCT. We purchased a Disney dinning plan. We plan to do 1 character dinner and 1 dinner/show. Which ones would be best with our boys/girls ratio?

Boys and girls alike are fond of Mickey, right?  My recommendation as to which character meal your family should book is Garden Grill at Epcot.  Not only will farmer Mickey and his pals visit your table, but one cool thing about the restaurant itself is that it literally rotates (very slowly) as you enjoy your meal.  Many of the menu items are grown/harvested in The Land at Epcot.  It's a family favorite for us!

As for a dinner show, have you hear about Mickey's Backyard Barbecue?  It's a family dance party/dinner show that takes place at Fort Wilderness.  It gives your whole family a chance to get up close and personal with the big cheese himself, while also kicking up your heels and letting off some steam.   It's an event that sons and daughters are sure to enjoy!

Given your inclination to plan a magical trip, I can already tell we have a lot in common. I'm Darcie, and my friends would be the first to tell you that Disney trip planning (especially dining!) is my love language. Of course, the vacations my family enjoys today look much different than they did when our kids were little, but while some of our favorite activities have evolved, Disney destinations still top our travel wish lists. Let's work together to plan a downright dreamy vacation for your family! Learn More About Darcie
