Hello! My husband and 2 children ages 6 & 7 will be making our 1st family trip to Disney in March. We have reservations at 9pm at Chef Mickeys. I was wondering if you think we would have enough time to eat and still have time to catch the fireworks?

    Hi Danielle,

From your question, it sounds like you will be visiting Walt Disney World at a time when Wishes takes place at 10 pm.  If that is the case, it will be difficult to conclude your meal in time to find a good viewing spot for Wishes.  Although you can pace your meal at your own rate at Chef Mickey's (since it is a buffet), you won't want to rush out of the restaurant before Mickey and all of his friends have circulated through the restaurant and visited your table.  That's half the fun of a character dining experience!  My advice to you would be to enjoy a leisurely meal at Chef Mickey's and then experience Wishes during another evening of your vacation.

Another suggestion I would make would be to arrive 30 minutes before your 9 pm reservation and ask if you could be seated early.  If there's a table available, I'm sure the host or hostess would be happy to accommodate your request.  You can also call (407) WDW-DINE during the days leading up to your reservation to see if you could switch to an earlier dining time.  Call the evening before and the morning of your reservation, too, as there are occasionally last minute cancellations and earlier seating times may become available.

Wishing you a vacation sprinkled with extra pixie dust!  I think you'll find that March is the perfect time of year to visit Walt Disney World.
