My husband and i have 3 children, ages 14, 7, and 6. We have never been to Disney. Most of the resorts only allow 4 guests, is it really necessary to upgrade to a suite or can we all fit into an All Star resort room for 4? Will they allow that?

    Hi Amanda!

It's true that the Value resort standard rooms have a limit of four guests max. But, I wouldn't suggest trying to fit five people into one, and I believe they do not allow it for safety reasons. However, that shouldn't deter you from planning a vacation to Walt Disney World! You have options for your family size.

For starters, there's the Family Suite at the Value resort level in the All Star Music Resort. This offers you a nice amount of space, two bathrooms, and a kitchenette. Also, if you wanted to you could book two connecting value resort standard rooms, however, connecting rooms are never fully guaranteed and if you wanted to rent a refrigerator, often times you will have made up the difference in cost between two standard rooms and the Family Suite.

Another option, which might be the best budget wise if you don't mind a little less space than the Family Suite, is booking a room at Port Orleans Riverside and requesting a room with a trundle bed that sleeps up to five guests. I think your six year might be able to sleep in the trundle comfortably enough, and the I think the Port Orleans resorts are some of the prettiest at Walt Disney World Resort.

There are a few other resorts at Walt Disney World with rooms that sleep more than four, particularly at the Deluxe resorts, and even the Cabins at Fort Wilderness Campground. Just let me know if you would like that info.

Don't forget to check for special offers on resort rooms, or if you call in to Disney reservations to ask about any offers they might have. Sometimes you get lucky and find there are promotions during the times you want to travel that can save you money.

I hope this helps. Come back to the Moms Panel if you have more questions!
