Hi! Husband and me will be celebrating 14year anniversary with a carriage ride and wishes cruise. We are not staying on site. Can I park at downtown Disney and take bus to fort wilderness?

    Hi Linda,

Happy anniversary! Walt Disney World is a wonderful place to celebrate. My husband and I have marked many anniversaries there, and it sounds as if you have a great romantic evening planned.

You certainly can park your car at Downtown Disney and catch a bus to Fort Wilderness to start your special activities. However, I would recommend driving to Fort Wilderness instead. You will be able to park free at Fort Wilderness. Just tell the guard at the entrance that you have a carriage ride booked, then take the short internal shuttle trip from the parking lot to the Pioneer Hall area for the carriage ride.

When we have left our car at Downtown Disney and have taken a bus to a Magic Kingdom area resort, we have found the trip back to the car to be a bit lengthy, especially later at night . You don't want to spoil the romantic mood of your evening with a long bus ride.

Your car should easier to access at Fort Wilderness.

Please let me know if I can offer any other help as you plan your anniversary trip. Best wishes for many happy years ahead. Enjoy!
