My husband & I will be celebrating New Year 2014 with a trip to WDW! YEAH! What advice can you give about celebrating NYE not at a park or DTD? Do any of the resorts do anything special at Midnight? Thanks!

Hi Tina! New Years Eve is a rocking holiday at Walt Disney World that lasts a couple of days instead of just a couple of hours. There are a couple of suggestions for celebrating outside the parks.

The resorts themselves will not offer anything extra as they must adhere to the wishes of the guests who want to sleep instead of staying up until midnight. There are quite a few resorts that have a separate bar and lounge area where I am sure you can toast the new year at midnight. The Beach Club is one suggestion where you can enjoy the fireworks over the trees at Epcot and it is located in the Boardwalk area which will have lots of fun things happening around the lake. A second thought would be to visit the Polynesian and enjoy dinner and drinks and then walk to the beach to view the Magic Kingdom firework celebration.

If you are looking to book a resort for that time I suggest one in the Epcot area, (Beach Club, Yacht Club, Boardwalk) or the Magic Kingdom area ( Contemporary, Polynesian, Grand Floridian) to get the most out of the midnight celebrations without traveling far. Have fun!
