My husband and I are going to be celebrating our dream honeymoon/ one year anniversary in Disney in June. But some good friends are also going with us. We are excited but do you have any tips or ideas to keep this still feeling like 'our dream get away?

    Hi Olivia,

Congratulations! My husband and I have celebrated many anniversaries at Disney. I hope this is the start of a great tradition for you.

Whenever we travel with others, we make sure to plan some time just for us. I'm sure your friends know this is a special trip for you and they won't be offended if you let them know ahead of time that you have made a few plans without them.

You can make advanced dining reservations for a cozy dinner or two for you and your husband. The new Senses spa at the Grand Floridian is beautiful. I haven't been there as a guest, but I have taken a tour and would love to spend time there. It offers couples massages that are popular with honeymooners.

A few of my recommendations for a romantic dinner: Artist Point at Wilderness Lodge, Narcoossee's at Grand Floridian, Jiku at Animal Kingdom Lodge or Flying Fish at Boardwalk. I haven't tried the new Monsieur Paul at Epcot yet, but it also looks delicious and romantic.

Tutto Gusto Wine Cellar in the Italy pavilion at Epcot also is a cozy, cool spot to slip away.

Make sure you note on  your reservations that you are celebrating your anniversary, and pick up the free Happy Anniversary buttons at guest services at the theme parks or resorts. You want everyone to know that you're marking something special.

I hope that helps. Please let me know if I can answer any other questions. Enjoy your time alone and with your friends!
