My husband and I will be celebrating my 30th birthday at WDW in January. We're staying at Port Orleans. I understand Pleasure Island is being refurbished; Can you provide a nightlife recommendation for our celebration?

    Hi Caroline!

The Pleasure Island that most guests remember from years past is basically gone forever.  However, there are still a lot of places to visit in Downtown Disney and there are new restaurants and shops in what was the old Pleasure Island.  I recommend taking the boat from Port Orleans to Downtown Disney and going to Raglan Road or Paradiso 37.  Both are excellent restaurants, but I prefer Raglan Road; Raglan Road also has the advantage of having nighttime entertainment right there in the restaurant.  It's one of my favorite places to be at night!

Another option is to go to the Boardwalk area and visit Jelly Rolls, a dueling piano bar that is a blast!  If you go, you could have dinner on the Boardwalk before or at one of the Epcot area hotels that sound Crescent Lake.  A great place to celebrate a birthday dinner would be at the Flying Fish at the Boardwalk or at the Yachtsman Steakhouse in the Yacht Club.

I hope this helps!  Write back with more questions and enjoy planning your magical Walt Disney World Resort vacation!
