Hi, my husband and I will be celebrating our 40th anniversary at the Grand in a garden view outer building in Oct. I would like to request a building and floor, any suggestions? I like the dormer rooms but not sure if we would enjoy the closed balcony?

    Happy Anniversary, Susan!

Forty magical years together is definitely worth celebrating in "Grand" style. I hope you and your husband have the most romantic escape to Walt Disney World Resort in October.

My parents celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary recently at Disney's Grand Floridian Resort. My mother raved about the room they were assigned on a high floor at the far corner of Big Pine Key. They could see Disney's Contemporary Resort and Space Mountain from their balcony, even though they had not reserved a theme park view. They would request that location again in a heartbeat!

Years ago, I enjoyed a garden view room overlooking Narcoossee's on the far left side of Boca Chica Key. That's another great area to request. Just be sure to ask for as high a floor as possible to open up the vistas for you and your handsome groom to enjoy. The closed balconies on the dormer rooms do provide guests a bit more privacy, but if you'd prefer a more open balcony, just asked for the second to highest floor.

If you haven't done so already, be sure to note what you are celebrating on your room reservation. Also, pick up complimentary anniversary buttons when you check in at Disney's Grand Floridian Resort, or at Guest Services at the first theme park you visit. Wear those buttons proudly and you never know what kind of good wishes and pixie dust may come your way.

Wishing you many more magical years together,
    Jill
