My husband can't do coasters, but wants to experience as much of Cosmic Rewind as possible. If he has a spot in the VQ with me, can he go all the way to the loading zone & then take a "chicken exit?" Or will he have to bail sooner?

    Hi Elizabeth,

It's always great to see you planning Disney at planDisney! I love visiting Walt Disney World Resort with my husband. He makes the best faces on attraction photos and indulges my desire to visit every gift shop we pass in search of my next set of Minnie ears. He's also a thrill seeker but, after two missions to save the galaxy, has determined that the unique motion of Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind is not the best match for his, shall we say, maturity. I totally get where you're coming from with your question and would love to share how much of this innovative attraction's storytelling you and your husband can experience together.

Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind can currently be experienced by joining the virtual queue or by purchasing an Individual Lightning Lane. As long as you and your husband secure a virtual queue boarding group, Elizabeth, you can use your method of entry (MagicBand, Disney MagicMobile pass, or admission card) to tap in at the attraction's entrance. During my family's most recent spring break visit, we spent about 30 minutes winding through the queue. We learned about the Wonders of Xandar and took a slew of selfies. On hot days, the queue is also a great place to cool down.

Your husband can remain with you through the pre-shows (plural). When your pre-show group crowds right to exit, stay together until the clump becomes more of a line. As you approach the loading area, look for a Cast Member at the bottom of the ramp that is sending groups right or left. That Cast Member will direct your husband to the area where he can sit and wait for you to exit the attraction. He'll get to see everything except the backs of his eyelids, had he made the choice to ride.

I grew up next to a theme park in Virginia. My brother doesn't enjoy roller coasters and grew up turning down playdates so he didn't have to spend half of his day sitting on a bench waiting for his friends. Lucky for my brother and your husband, Disney Imagineers make attraction queues part of the attraction so no one has to miss out on the fun or togetherness.

I hope this information helps put your husband's mind and stomach at ease, Elizabeth. The next time my family rides Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind, my husband tells me he's going to be drinking around the world at nearby Club Cool. I encouraged him to try Beverly.

    Plan magic; planDisney.
