Hi Raquel! Welcome to planDisney!
It's great to hear that you're planning a visit to the
Walt Disney World Resort later this year! I can't think of a better place to celebrate the holiday season than at the Most Magical Place on Earth!
If you're planning to visit the Magic Kingdom in December, you may run into some nights when a special event is taking place. This past year and in years past, that event has been
Mickey's Very Merry Christmas Party. While there has not been any announcement about a potential event for this year, I would highly anticipate an event to take place. On nights when this does occur, the Magic Kingdom will typically close early to allow Guests who purchased a special ticket to enter. The regular nighttime firework display will typically not be shown. Guests with tickets to the party will have a special firework show to view later that night.
If seeing the nighttime spectacular at the
Magic Kingdom is a priority, I would suggest choosing a day when a party is not scheduled to take place. While these dates are unknown at this time, you can go ahead and purchase a ticket now and adjust your date if needed. Last year, this special event was announced in June and tickets went on sale in July. Again, no announcement has occurred to date, so I suggest following along with the
Disney Parks Blog to stay up-to-date.
Raquel, I have great news!
Happily Ever After is making its triumphant return to the Magic Kingdom at the beginning of April! This nighttime spectacular has held a special place in my heart since I first watched it with my daughters years ago. I hope you get a chance to see it during your visit in December!
Have a magical day, Raquel!
Stop back and see us again at planDisney!
See ya real soon!
