My husband broke his leg and will be wheelchair / scooter bound for our trip in less than 3 weeks. Will he be qualified for the DAS card?

    Welcome Back Carmen!

Your poor husband!  I hope he heals quickly.  I do have some great information to share with you.  I recently visited Walt Disney World with a fellow panelist whose daughter had broken her foot and required a wheelchair to get around the parks.   Guests whose disability is based  on having to use a wheelchair or scooter do not need a DAS Card.   Certain attractions will allow the wheelchair to go through the standard queue, while others will give you a return time voucher to come back and enter an alternative entrance.    For example on Space Mountain we were able to push the wheelchair all the way up the queue to the entrance of the ride and transfer; however on Big Thunder Mountain Railroad we were given a return time to gain access through an alternative entrance.   Just ask the Cast Members at the entrance of each attraction and they will advice you on how to enter the queue.

Carmen, I have found that Walt Disney World is one of the most accommodating places to vacation.  If you feel your husband needs any other type of assistance please don't hesitate to ask a Cast Member at Guest Relations.   I hope you have a magical trip and please let your husband know that we hope he feels better very soon.
