My husband broke his hip in Aug & we have a trip planned for Dec 20-28. He doesn't want a wheelchair but long standing & walking is very hard on him & we will be at WDW for 9 days. Is there anything we can do to shorten standing times w/out ski

    Hello, Megan,

I'm so sorry to hear about your husband's hip, but please feel reassured that there is an option to help make the trip more comfortable for him.  When you arrive at any of the parks, I'd stop by Guest Relations to get a Guest Assistance Card. This card should provide your husband with an alternative waiting area for most attractions where he can wait while sitting.  While it isn't required, you may also find it helpful to have a note from his doctor explaining his difficulty in having to stand for long periods of time.

And if you find once you are there that a wheelchair would be helpful, there are wheelchair rental locations at the theme parks and Downtown Disney.

Wishing you a magical trip!  I absolutely love Walt Disney World over the holidays and hope you find it as wonderful, too.
