Hello- my husband broke his back so I need to rent him a scooter at each park. How can I do that?

    Hi Chrissie

Welcome to planDisney!  There's no better place to ring in the New Year than at Walt Disney World Resort!  Before your arrival next week, let's take a quick look at what you need to know about ECV Rentals in the parks.

Chrissie, ECV Rentals are available at each theme park, water park, and Disney Springs - wherever your adventures take you at Walt Disney World Resort.  Advanced reservations cannot be made, and ECVs are available on a first-come, first-served basis in each location.  When completing your rental, you'll pay a daily fee and a refundable deposit.  While ECVs cannot leave the park they were rented from, your rental fee is good all day.  As an example, if you rent an ECV at Disney's Hollywood Studios, you will need to return it before leaving to park hop to EPCOT.  However, when you arrive at EPCOT, you can simply show your receipt from earlier in the day to rent another ECV (based on availablility) without having to pay the daily rental fee again.

If your husband requires an ECV for travel to, from, and between the parks as well, you may want to check out Disney's Featured Provider, Scooterbug, about a length-of-stay rental.  Scooterbug will take advanced reservations and can even deliver your ECV right to your Disney Resort Hotel!  I'm also happy to share that most of Disney's complimentary resort transportation options are accessible for Guests using an ECV, including the buses, monorail, Disney Skyliner, and select water taxis/ferryboats.  You'll also find accessible Minnie Vans available through the Lyft app for an additional fee if you'd prefer to use those vehicles when traveling throughout the Walt Disney World Resort.

Before arriving, you may also want to check out all of the information for Guests visiting the parks with mobility needs.  Here, you'll find additional information on accessing attractions that will help you best plan your day.

Chrissie, I hope this information has been helpful and that you enjoy a wonderful visit to Walt Disney World Resort!  If you have any other questions, please stop by to see us again here at planDisney!

    Happy Holidays!
    Kristi
