Hi. My husband and I are in our 60's and bringing our grandchildren. My husband is not good at walking but too proud to admit it and rent a scooter. He insists there is a small train (not the monorail) that circulates within the parks. Is this true?

    Hi Emily!
As a grandparent myself I can tell you that there is nothing quite as special as visiting the Walt Disney World Resort with your grandchildren! The answer to your question is yes and no. At the Magic Kingdom you will find the Walt Disney World Railroad which provides a lovely 1.5 mile trek around the Park. It makes stops in Fantasyland, Frontierland, and Main Street, U.S.A. While it can save a bit of walking, it will not significantly reduce your walking as it circles the Magic Kingdom and there is a lot within that circle! Please let your husband know that you can count on trekking multiple miles every day while at the Walt Disney World Resort. Also, the other Parks do not have a railroad to ease the walking burden. Maybe that will help convince him that a scooter is indeed a good idea.

If you have more questions, come on back to the Disney Parks Moms Panel- we love to help!

    See ya real soon!

I have traveled to the Disney Parks in multiple stages of my life, including as a daughter, sister, aunt, mother and grandmother.  One of my favorite things to do is to travel with multi-generational groups. I am thrilled to be able to help other Disney guests plan their adventures. Learn More About Anne
