    My husband and I are bringing my daughter and her best friend ( both 13), they have been many times and they know the parks by heart..... is time to let them do their thing? Second, is Wilderness Lodge a good place for teens???

    Hi Peyton!

         You as a parent, know your children the best so it really is up to your comfort level and how mature that your children are as to when you let them strike out on their own in "the world".  My son is thirteen too and he thinks that he is "King of the World!" when I let him go on his own for a few hours in Walt Disney World. I am a single parent and I am extremely protective of my son, but on the last two trips I have let my son ride a ride or two by himself.  My son knows the parks of Walt Disney World by heart as well. So from my experience here is what I would recommend:

    1. Start out slow and let them go off alone on a ride or two on their own and then work up to longer times
    2. Set a time limit and a meeting place for them to meet you in one to two hours
    3. Make sure that you are in the same park and restrict them to the park that you are in
    4. Have the girls commit to stay together the entire time and not separate
    5. Make sure that both parties have cell phones to reach each other if anyone is delayed or you need to contact them for any reason
    6. Relax and let the kids have fun and while they are at it, make sure that you have fun too
