Should my husband bring medical documentation of his generalized anxiety disorder for guest services if we wish to receive a guests with disabilities pass for rides?

    Hi, Ashley!

    Great question!

Disney Parks has a long-standing reputation for taking care of every one of its guests, most especially those with special needs. I've witnessed first-hand the extra-special care some of my students and family members have received when they needed accommodations in order to be able to enjoy any of Walt Disney World's attractions, and I am always so impressed with the caring manner in which our needs are met. No one else takes care of its Guests as well as Disney.

In 2013, Disney Parks introduced the Disability Access Service Card (DAS) which is "designed to accommodate guests who aren't able to wait in a conventional  queue environment due to a disability." According to the Disney Parks Disability Access Service Card Fact Sheet, you should visit Guest Relations to discuss your husband's individual needs. You will not need to provide medical documentation at this time, as "there are legal restrictions around asking for proof." Cast Members at Guest Relations will be happy to assist you in obtaining your DAS Card, which will be valid for up to 14 days at the time it is issued.

Have a wonderful trip to Walt Disney World, Ashley! Happy planning...and be sure to send more questions as you think of them; we love to help!
