Hi Janelle! I know a lot of people say they can see all of Animal Kingdom in half a day. My family strongly disagrees. In fact, we often try to plan on at
least a full day & a half there. I'll agree you can do many of the major attractions in that short amount of time. However, rushing through it, you fail to truly immerse yourself in the magic & really experience AK. It's a highlight of our trips. For us from the moment we enter The Oasis exhibits (through the gates), we feel as though we've been transplanted into a tropical rain forest. The sights & sounds of the beautiful birds & exotic animals are captivating.
The Kilimanjaro Safari is by far a "can't miss" experience. If your 7 year old is like mine, he'll talk about it for years after. Where else can you ride in an open-air vehicle & see giraffe, zebra & more (unless you travel to Africa?!)
Two of our favorite things are to walk the Maharajah Jungle Trek & Pangani Forest Exploration
Trails. We enjoy just wandering though at our own pace & really taking the time to discover the various
animals.
I recently gave some ideas for entertaining a toddler at AK Park that you may find helpful. Click

I've only hit on a few of the wonderful opportunities that await you at AK. After reading this, you may get the impression that our family prefers "laid back, quiet attractions". You might be surprised to learn that all my of kids are thrill ride junkies, the youngest of which rode Tower of Terror at 3 years old. They're all about fast, fun rides & hitting the Parks from sun-up to closing time. AK allows our family a "discovery" kind of day & brings out a different side of everyone. I hope you will get the chance to experience the Animal Kingdom that we've come to cherish. Kaylene
