My husband and I bought membership to DVC in December 2019. I was the one to create a DVC account and link to my Disney Experience account. How do I add my husband to the account as a member so he can have access to the DVC benefits?

    Hiya, Summer!

"Welcome Home" to planDisney from a fellow Disney Vacation Club Member!  I'm so glad you stopped by with your question today.  Along with the magic of enjoying Disney vacations year after year, I think my favorite part of DVC Membership is all the ways we can sprinkle a little extra pixie dust on each visit with our Member Benefits.  From events like Moonlight Magic, fantastic dining and shopping discounts, and much more, there are so many exclusive opportunities for Members to enjoy. To make sure you and your husband both have access to all that Membership magic during your next visit, let me walk you through the process of creating a new DVC Account for your husband.

In order to download your new Disney Vacation Club Digital Membership Card and access your Member Benefits, you and your husband will each need your own username and password for the DVC website (this can be the same login that you use for My Disney Experience if that helps to simplify things).   Just keep in mind that in order to have your own account, you and your husband will both need to be a Purchaser on your contract –– Associate Members aren't eligible to access Member Benefits and have their own account.  To create an account for your husband, you'll need the individual Club ID number and activation code that you were provided with when you became a Member.  While these numbers should be available on your original Membership documents, don't panic if you can't find them –– Member Services can provide you with this info by calling (800) 800-9800 or by using the chat feature on the DVC website.  Personally, the chat feature always gets a quicker response for me, so that's typically the method I recommend for this type of thing.  Just be sure to have your Membership number handy before you begin so the Cast Member you speak with will be able to access your account info.

Once you have that individual Club ID and activation code, your husband will be able to set up his account by visiting the DVC website and signing in with his Disney Account credentials. When he does, he'll be prompted to input those new numbers and get everything squared away. After that new account is created, I suggest that he heads over to the Walt Disney World website to connect his new account to My Disney Experience. To do this, hover over the "My Disney Experience" tab and click on "Profile". By selecting "Memberships & Passes" on the following screen, he'll be able to use the onscreen prompts and connect his accounts.  When that's done, he'll be able to create a Disney MagicMobile Pass that will act as his new Disney Vacation Club Digital Membership Card.  With access to all your Member Benefits right from your phone, it's pretty much like having your own Membership magic wand. Be sure to give it a try before your next DVC visit!

Thanks so much for dropping by planDisney, Summer.  I hope this helped to answer your question and I'm wishing you and your husband many magical Membership adventures in the future!

    Happy Planning,
    Amy
