Almost every Mom on the Panel has taken a baby to WDW. You read about some of our experiences
HERE,
HERE,
HERE, and
HERE. Our biggest
tip is to try to keep the baby to his/her schedule as much as possible.
Make sure to get those naps in and keep the child fed and especially
hydrated. This will not be the "do it all" vacation. But you can have a
joyful and rewarding WDW trip with your baby.
You can bring your baby with you on any ride or attraction for which
there is no height requirement -- there are dozens of these in the
Magic Kingdom alone. My
experience with babies a WDW is that they'll be happy if you're happy.
At this age, the child is not so much in the ride for the story, as a
preschooler might be, but more for the sensory experience. Any of the
rides in Fantasyland have plenty of sounds and colors to stimulate a
growing mind (Winnie the Pooh and Peter Pan, for example). There are a
few rides that even stimulate the olfactory senses -- watch out for the
skunk smell in the Journey to Imagination ride at Epcot :-)
My oldest daughter (now nearly 12) doesn't remember many of our early
Disney experiences with her. But those memories
are priceless to me. And they also set the stage for all the great
Disney fun that she does remember. If you're a Disney fan, then there's no better way to share your passion then by starting your children young.
Have a great trip!
