Welcome to planDisney, Hannah. I believe everyone should experience Walt Disney World, no matter how young or old! All are welcome. Our youngest was 6 months on their first visit, so we have lots of experience with
Rider Switch, and I'm delighted to talk you through how it works.
Once you arrive at the queue entrance of your chosen ride, let's say
Soarin' Around the World, as it's a classic must-do ride for our family. Speak with a friendly Cast Member at the entrance of the queue. The first Guest using Rider Switch will wait in the usual queue line (if both Guests hold
Genie+ you may use a booked Lightning Lane), and once they have experienced the ride, the second Guest, who will have waited with your baby, can use the
Lightning Lane entrance for the ride. I understand you would like to queue together, but we've always found this to be a great opportunity to change the baby or, in this example, grab a snack from the nearby
Sunshine Seasons.
Please know there is so much you can all experience together as a family, away from the epic thrill rides. Our youngest loves the parades, and rides that welcome all Guests, such as
Peter Pan's Flight, will mesmerize you and your little Mouseketeer.
The planDisney panelists LeAndra and Leslie have created a helpful video series with the best tips for
visiting Walt Disney World with young children. It's a great watch before your adventure. Should your little one (or you) need a moment of calm in the Parks, my tip is to head for the
Baby Care Centres. They're like a little baby oasis in Walt Disney World.
Hannah, I hope this helps you and your bundle of joy to create magical memories at Walt Disney World. I would love to help if you need anything further! Louise.
