Greetings, Erin! The Nai River Journey is a ride for everyone, with spacious bench seating as you float down an inspiring river to greet the Shaman. You’ll adore all the luminescent plant life! The other new new attraction,
Avatar Flight of Passage, is a truly thrilling ride that will tickle all five of your senses. Smell the aromas of Pandora, swoop down cliffs and bond with your very own Banshee! I rode Flight of Passage over twelve times when I first visited, riding from every angle, all three levels and seeing something new each time.
I also rode with another guest that was 6’ 10”, a very tall gent, who told me his height was not an issue at all. He felt quite comfortable on the jet-ski style seat, which has leg restraints as well as a big hug of a seat back that raises up to support you. Flight of Passage can be a bumpy ride! If you would like to test out the seat with your husband, there is a nice prototype seat outside the ride queue, and any Cast Member can unlock the seat restraints for you to try out. When seated, they can raise up the seat back to it’s proper position and you can see how comfortable you are. That way, you don’t have to wait in line to see if you want to ride! There are a few user videos on YouTube that can show you the mechanics of the seat, too. Just Youtube “Flight of Passage Rider Seat” and see what insight you can gain before your trip starts.
There were all sort of body shapes and types at the ride premiere, and everyone had a great time, so I hope you and your husband do, too! After your Avatar journey, pass through Windtraders and stop outside at the Pongu Pongu Drink Stand. The Night Blossom drink is a purple and green frozen concoction that deserves to be shared and sipped in front of the Mossy Walls! Enjoy your trip, and please visit me again to ask another question. ~ Lindsey P.
