My husband and I always plan a trip to Disneyland, staying at the Grand Californian in January to celebrate our birthdays. As of today, there are still no rooms available at any of the Disneyland hotels. In the past we've reserved in November.Any reason?

Greetings, Lisa, and welcome to planDisney. A birthday visit to the Disneyland Resort is a wonderful way to kick off the new year!

Lisa, room availability for the Disneyland Resort hotels may vary depending on the dates and length of your stay, the total number of Guests on your reservation, and how far in advance you are booking. I just used the tool on the website to test different date ranges in January 2026 for two Guests and saw options for each of the three Resort hotels. You might want to try again, and if you see limited availability, try adjusting the search criteria.

Please note that the standard rooms typically sleep up to five adults. If your search criteria ever has more than five people, your results would only include rooms with larger capacities, such as the suites.

Lisa, if you are still running into problems on the website, you can call the Vacation Packages phone line to book your hotel reservation by phone with the help of a friendly Cast Member! They can provide some options based on your travel dates and party size.

I love that you are dreaming of a stay at the Grand Californian Hotel. It's one of my favorite places – the convenient proximity to the parks, majestic lobby, comfortable amenities, unique dining options, fun pool areas, and overall atmosphere are truly special. Make sure to ask the Concierge Desk about the Art of the Craft Tour – this free guided walking tour of the Grand Californian Hotel is available (with a reservation) to registered hotel Guests. There are other exclusive activities at the hotels that you can enjoy during your stay, too!

Have you ever experienced the Tenaya Stone Spa at the hotel? It's a true oasis with a menu of different treatments, including massages, pedicures, facials, and more! I went there for a massage and had the option of listening to Disney soundtracks, which was really unique.

Lisa, I hope you have a happy holiday season and a fantastic start to the new year. Happy early birthday! If you think of any other questions, please reach out. We're always happy to help here at planDisney!
