My husband and I along with our two children, ages 6 and 3, are heading to WDW next week. We arrive on Wed. around 2:00 pm and leave Sunday at 2:00 pm. We are looking for ideas on what we can do on Sunday before we leave. Any suggestions? Thank you!

Hi Sarah! You and your family must be so excited about your upcoming trip to Walt Disney World...just days away for the magic!

You did not mention if you were driving or flying out. If indeed you don't have to leave the property until 2pm that gives you lots of time to still have some fun. Getting a late checkout is sometimes possible but usually it can only be for an extra hour. What we do is get up and finish packing and have our luggage stored with the bell services at our resort. If you are flying out then see if the airline you are using is part of the Disney program where you can check your bags right at the resort. Then just store your carry ons with the bell service.

We enjoy heading to Downtown Disney for our first or last day.  You can grab breakfast at locations such as Wolfgang Puck Express or wait and just have an early lunch. Most restaurants will open around 11 and advanced reservations are recommended.

If you are interested in something active I highly recommend taking the family to Splitsville. Although the youngest might not want to bowl it is a very relaxed fun family place where you can get a lane for an hour and a half and eat while you bowl. The food is good and the music makes it a festive place even for the younger ones who will likely want to at least try rolling a ball down the alley once.

Another super option is to see if you can get reservations for the House of Blues Gospel Brunch. This is a family friendly buffet brunch followed by some wonderful gospel entertainment with the first seating at 10:30am. You can get more information on line or by calling 407-934-2583.

And don't forget the great shopping and Characters in Flight balloon ride and so much more in this Downtown Disney area!
