My husband and I along with another couple are going to Disney in Jan.We plan to do Hollywood Studios and Epcot in the same day. I've never stayed outside the park so I'm unsure is it best to take the ferry or drive since we plan to stay for Illuminations?

Welcome to the Disney Parks Moms Panel Hannah ~

Sounds like you are planning an exciting day - I love it!  The Friendship Boats typically run 1 hour after park closing.  I'm not sure which day you plan to visit Disney's Hollywood Studios and Epcot.  You can check the calendar for park hours to see the hours of operation for both parks on the day you plan to visit.

If you are cutting it close on time, then I'd drive from Hollywood Studios to Epcot.  You only have to pay to park once a day at the theme parks.  If you drive to another theme park, you can show the Cast Member at the parking plaza your paid parking receipt from the first theme park of the day and you won't have to pay again.

One advantage to driving to Epcot is that you can take your time strolling back through the World Showcase after IllumiNations is over and letting the crowd get ahead of you.

Please feel free to visit us with all of your planning questions.  Its our pleasure to assist you!

Wishing you minnie magical memories :-) Allison V.
